A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Welcome! I wish to welcome you and share a few notes to set us up for success in working together. Thank you for choosing to make this time for yourself.
How often will we meet? Clients often experience improvement in symptoms after just 1-2 sessions. It is important that we continue working together beyond this time. I encourage you to commit to regular therapy sessions for several weeks or months, so that we can truly engage in a conversation about what is challenging you and to help you find some relief. Therapy should not feel like an added stressor or obligation in your life, so it is important to have open communication about how sessions are fitting into your weekly routine and make them work for you! I typically work with clients weekly & bi-weekly and eventually, as needed.
How long are sessions? Intake sessions are up to 60 minutes in length. Follow-up sessions can be scheduled at 30, 45 or 50+ minute increments. While I will do my best to accommodate your preferences, I will make suggestions in regards to session duration to best meet your needs along the way.
How do I schedule? I accept insurance in NY and PA via the Grow Therapy & Headway platforms. Please email me for my schedule & availability calendars at [email protected]. I am also a provider with Open Path Psychotherapy where I offer generous sliding scale fees between $40-$70; you must join Open Path as a member to access this sliding scale fee.
What if I need to cancel? Things happen! Whenever possible, please send me a quick note to let me know if you need to cancel, even if it is last-minute. A late cancellation unfortunately limits my ability to offer your session slot to another client; for this reason I do charge $75 for subsequent late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice). For no-shows without communication, I charge the full session self-pay fee of $120. I care about your progress and do not wish to enforce this policy, so please discuss any barriers you may be experiencing with me.
Can I use insurance? I accept several private insurance plans in New York and Pennsylvania. I am in the process of being credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid, estimated late 2024.
Social Media Policy: While I do participate in social media, I will never use web searches to gather information about you without your permission because I believe that this violates your privacy rights. I will not accept friend requests from clients that I offer or have offered counseling services to in order to preserve the counselor-client relationship.
I look forward to working with you!
Lauren
